  3. Green Mountain Horse Association is the nation's oldest continuously operating horse association. It offers competitive, recreational and educational equine activities in five disciplines - combined training, dressage, driving, hunters/jumpers, and trail.
  4. Play golf at nearby Woodstock Country Club. Named one of the top 100 golf resorts" by Golf Magazine. The 18-hole course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. (802) 457-6674.
  5. Hike the local trails - we have an extensive trail system here in the village. From the top of Mt. Tom, right here in the village, take in dramatic views of the village and the surrounding mountains.
  6. Alpine skiing abounds in Vermont. Suicide Six is located 3 miles from the center of Woodstock. Killington is 18 miles, Mt. Ascutney is 17, and Okemo is 25 miles. Check Ski Conditions here.
  7. Skiing not for you?  Check out Killington Tubing Park.
  8. Imagine yourself dog sledding.  Braeburn Siberians offers 2, 3 and 4 hour excursions, as well as 45 minute rides.
  9. Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, fishing, canoeing/kayaking and bike rental are all available at Wilderness Trails in Quechee.
  10. Visit nearby Quechee Gorge, "Vermont's Little Grand Canyon."
  11. Picnic, swim, and canoe at nearby Silver Lake State Park - this is a great place for families. There is a beautiful beach with a diving pier, a large playground, concession stand, clean bathrooms and a large covered space, which can be reserved for group outings.

  4. Visit King Arthur Flour's headquarters in Norwich.
  5. Tour the factory of renown furniture maker Charles Shackleton, and potter Miranda Thomas in nearby Bridgewater

  7. Visit F. H. Gillingham & Sons, Vermont's oldest general store, located right in the village.

  9. Artisans Park in Windsor is home to a Harpoon Brewery, Silo Distillery,  Great River Outfitters and The Path of Life Garden, Sustainable Farmer Farmers' Market and glass blowing by Simon Pearce.
  10. Check out the Vermont Brewers Association Passport Program.  So many amazing craft breweries are within an easy drive of the inn.
  11. Taste award-winning artisanal spirits at Vermont Spirits Distilling, right in nearby Quechee.
  12. Sugarbush Farm is the perfect place to learn how maple syrup is made, taste the four grades, and learn why each tastes different. You can also taste many Vermont made products here, including fourteen varieties of cheese.

The Woodstock Historical Society, located right in the village in the 1807 Dana House, has changing exhibits that include paintings, decorative arts pieces, textiles, costumes, antique toys, dolls, doll houses, tools and other local items. Guided tours are available. Pentangle Council on the Arts, a non-profit arts council, presents music, theater, dance and family events in the Woodstock Town Hall Theatre, a 400-seat historic theater.
  7. Visit President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site, the birthplace and boyhood home of Calvin Coolidge, in nearby Plymouth Notch.
  8. The Lebanon Opera House and The Claremont Opera House offer live performances. Professional live theatre is available at Northern Stage in White River Junction.
